How to Find Us
We have two shops in the beautiful Ullswater valley. Our original shop in Glenridding in what was originally the Miners Co-Op, and our more recent shop in Pooley Bridge where you will find a wide range of tents continuously on display during the summer months.
To reach the Ullswater valley.
Leave the M6 at junction 42 and follow the signs for the Ullswater Steamers. Then with the lake in view you can either turn left for a short drive to Pooley Bridge where our shop is located in the back of the central Market Square, where free parking is available year round. Or if you prefer to visit our Glenridding shop, turn right and follow the A592 for a glorious drive down the length of Englands second longest lake until you enter the village of Glenridding. Parking is available adjacent to the Tourist Information and a short walk via the road bridge over Glenridding Beck will bring you to our front door.
Approaching from Windermere and Ambleside.
If you are staying in the busy central lakes area why not take a day out to experience the tranquility that is still found in the Ullswater valley? The drive via Kirkstone Pass is breathtaking, with incredible views from the Kirkstone Inn, positioned astonishingly at the very top of the pass. As you decend toward Brothers Water and the Ullswater Valley opens up before you, you will understand why this quiet gem of a valley is still much revered. Then continue through Hartsop and Patterdale until you enter Glenridding.
To get here from Keswick.
For those wishing to escape the crowds of Keswick, simply follow the A66 until you see the turning for Troutbeck and the A5091 on the right. As you turn onto this quiet road you will see the Troutbeck Inn on the left which has a well deserved reputation for good food, then simply follow this road through Dockray until before you the whole Ullswater Valley opens up in one of the best views available from the roadside anywhere in the Lake District. Once you join the A592 next to the spectacular Aira Force falls, you can then procede either left to Pooley Bridge or right to Glenridding.
However you get here...
However you find your way to our spectacular Ullswater Valley, we're sure you will enjoy your visit, and by visiting one of our shops we will help to equip you for your memorable day out in one of Englands last unspoilt gems, the unique Ullswater Valley.
Thank You
